Best BlackBerry Z10 understated style professional cases

The BlackBerry has long been an ally of those in the boardroom, and the latest model, the Z10, is no different. In this article, we’ll be looking at five of the best professional cases for the Z10, which offer the understated style that you’re looking for. Let’s get right into it.
Best BlackBerry Z10 understated style professional cases
5. BlackBerry Leather Pocket Case
This case is one of the simplest leather cases available for the Z10 – just slip your Z10 into the case whenever it’s not being used. This approach prevents costly scratches and knocks to your phone and its screen, while taking up the minimum amount of space. The phone includes a proximity sensor, to ensure that the screen remains off when the case is on.
4. Tech21 Impact Snap Case with Cover
You don’t have to give up protection to get a stylish and professional case. This Tech21 Impact Snap Case has a more contemporary look, and provides excellent drop protection thanks to pockets of the innovative D3O material. This material is putty-like at rest, but instantly hardens in response to impacts, thus dissipating the shock without damage.
3. Piel Frama iMagnum
This is one of the most premium cases available for the BlackBerry Z10, offering hand-crafted leather finished with premium Gutermann thread and with a high quality vilédon lining. Available in tan and black, these hand-crafted cases set a new high standard for professionalism.
2. Case-Mate Barely There
Here’s another non-leather case that offers a few advantages – namely a dramatically thin signature. The Barely There, as the name suggests, boasts minimal bulk while still protecting the back and sides of your phone from damage due to scratching or knocks.
1. Zenus Minimal Diary Series
Our winner today is the Zenus Minimal Diary Series, which matches genuine, high-quality leather with minimal bulk. This is a best-of-both-worlds combination, allowing you to remain conservative and stylish. The case also includes internal pockets, allowing you to have space for credit and business cards. A top quality case that’ll do any professional proud.

Simplicity – One page websites are ideal for iPhone apps. They are simple and easy to navigate. Simplicity works very well for Apple, so it makes sense that it would work well for iPhone App websites.

Illustrations
– Minimal text but plenty of images – bear this in mind and you’ll be on to a cracking design. Make sure your iPhone app web design includes screenshots and bold illustrations.
Call to Action – Make this clear, obvious and instantly accessible. Toggle between the default app store button and your own design with some A/B testing to see which generates more clickthroughs.
A Quick Peek at the Coolest iPhone App Website Designs
By looking at some of the coolest iPhone App website designs you can get some inspiration for your own iPhone app web design. Here are some of our favorites:
Analytiks
Analtyks is a fab app that has a web design that combines all three of our design tips; simplicity, screenshots and a clear call to action. Given that the app is already graphical, the designers knew it need to be placed on a plain background with simple design features to help the features of the app stand out. A well designed website for an awesome iPhone app.
Ben the Bodyguard
You simply couldn’t write a post about the coolest iPhone app web designs without mentioning the beautifully designed Ben the Bodyguard website. Big, bold black and white headers, with a clear price, a fantastic illustration, a clear call to action (using the standard App Store logo) and only one other link off to play the trailer. Two lines of text eloquently summarize the app’s purpose. This is how you make a fantastic iPhone app web design!
Circle
The chaps behind Circle clearly have a great designer on board because the website is just as well designed as the app itself. Clean, clear and uncluttered, the design utilizes a great screenshot and clear call to action buttons.
DUI Dodger
DUI Dodger is an app to help prevent you driving under the influence, and one peek at the app’s website design makes it clear what the app is for. The design is split almost neatly in half; on the left is a big screenshot of the app (showing the calculation of the blood alcohol levels of the user and two features – call a friend or test again). On the right are two smaller illustrations of a police car and some alcoholic drinks, some sales text and a clear call to action. All in all this is a clean and simple design that instantly conveys the purpose of the app.
Pretty Poo
Pretty Poo is an imaginative iPhone app that uses a very simple colorful design with three clear illustrations to represent the apps purpose. The clever use of color makes this a winner, but the App Store logo seems a little detached from the design. Other than this one flaw this is a great design.
Weave
The Weave app web design is simple and minimal, but its basic design ensures that the eye is drawn to the creatively designed call to action button. The designers have also included Facebook ‘Like’ and Twitter ‘Follow’ buttons helping to sell the product and grow their online audience.

T-Mobile acquisition of MetroPCS gets closer after shareholder appeal

It wasn’t that long ago that US carrier AT&T failed in its bid to take over rival carrier T-Mobile that proved to have quite an expensive outcome in the end. Now Deutsche Telekom owner of T-Mobile is trying to push through its acquisition of MetroPCS, which is seemingly getting closer after a shareholder appeal.
T-Mobile acquisition of MetroPCS gets closer after shareholder appeal
MetroPCS has released a press statement announcing that its board has unanimously approved the revised terms of the proposed takeover by Deutsche Telekom and has advised shareholders to vote for the deal to go through. Previously there were some reservations from the company’s shareholders about the amount of debt the deal would bring to the combined company.
The new deal sees this debt reduced by $3.8 billion to $11.2 billion, which is also being claimed to create extra financial flexibility and will in turn increase the combined company’s equity value. The company has also agreed to lower the interest rate on the debt by half a percentage point, and the deal has already been given the approval by the relevant authorities in the country and is unaffected by this amendment to the agreement.
The merger is being seen as a way to strengthen the company and give it access to more customers and network coverage, and the amendment also extends the lock in period for stock owned by Deutsche Telekom to eighteen months up from six.
Voting for the merger is planned for April 24th and with this latest news should be voted through by the company’s shareholders.
If you are a customer of MetroPCS are you concerned about the T-Mobile takeover going through?

Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie vs iOS 7, features foreseen

Although new high-end smartphones are always eagerly anticipated it’s easy to forget that sometimes it’s the operating system that can really make a phone shine. This year we’re looking forward to the arrival of Apple’s next major mobile OS upgrade to iOS 7 along with the next major Android upgrade, 5.0 Key Lime Pie. With this in mind we thought we’d take a look at Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie vs. iOS 7 and some of the features that have been foreseen for each.
key-lime-pie-vs-ios-7
Although nothing has yet been confirmed for either of these upcoming operating systems it’s widely expected that iOS 7 will be introduced at Apple’s WWDC event in June and that the iPhone 5S will be the first device launched running it. Meanwhile Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie is expected to debut at Google’s I/O event in May and it’s rumored that the Nexus 5 smartphone or rather mysterious Motorola X device might be the first to launch with KLP out of the box.
It’s a fact of life that with the current competition in the mobile world no matter how good the hardware of a phone is, software features can be equally as important. We’ve already received plenty of comments to previous articles about possible features and wish lists for Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie and iOS 7 so we have an idea of what many of you would like to see. Product Reviews has also come up with an interesting look at anticipated features.
Looking at Key Lime Pie first, some possibilities include a Night Mode for conserving power, Game Mode for optimum power when needed and improved performance profiles. There could also be more support for multiple devices and an enhanced touch keyboard. Other features we’ve previously discussed include improved Voice Assistant, a video chat app and improved back up.
For iOS 7 possible features include additions to the lockscreen, fingerprint software technology and Apple Maps 2.0 as well as a better battery performance via software tweaks. We have also previously noted the possibility of enhanced app management, ways to hide apps, smarter auto-correct, quick reply, widget integration, pop-up toggles, pull-down icon menus, iRadio and more.
iOS 7 should be particularly interesting to many as former Apple hardware design guru Sir Jonathan Ive has moved over to the software side and so the complete look of the new OS may have received an overhaul. This would be great as iOS has been accused sometimes lately of looking a little stale although of course it remains to be seen exactly what influence Ive has had in this department.
We’re really interested to hear your views on Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie vs. iOS 7. Do you think that Google, or Apple, is more likely to come up with something that could win users over from the opposite platform? Have you a wish list of features you’re hoping to see for KLP or iOS 7? Let us know with your comments.

New Nexus 7 expected to be even more successful

2012 was certainly the year that saw the appeal of smaller sized tablet PCs gaining strength which was led by the Nexus 7 and the iPad mini. Now though thoughts are turning to the replacements for both devices with the new Nexus 7 expected to be even more successful than the old model.
New Nexus 7 expected to be even more successful
The original Nexus 7 has undoubtedly proven to be a huge success for both Asus and Google since it was originally released last summer and given a refresh a few months later. A relatively low up front price coupled with some great specifications saw the device selling like hot cakes, and now sources are claiming the second generation Nexus 7 will achieve 8 million sales during 2013.
This is following checks with the supply chain which seems to confirm pleasingly that Asus will again be responsible for the Nexus 7 2013 release, with the device expected to be shown off next month at the Google I/O event with a release shortly after.
The same source is claiming that the new model will see 1 million sales during May so must mean the device will become available shortly after it’s unveiling. The company made a good job of meeting demand for the device and could maybe teach LG a thing or two.
Rumours have been suggesting that the new Nexus 7 will be using a Qualcomm processor instead of the Nvidia Tegra 4, and will also feature a Full HD display with smaller bezels making the device more compact. Pricing has also been rumoured to be at least the same as the current model or even cheaper in an attempt to blow the competition out of the water.
Do you plan on getting the new Nexus 7 this year?

Nokia Lumia 928 Verizon availability nears after parts appear

While customers of AT&T have been enjoying the Nokia Lumia 920 flagship smartphone, subscribers of rival carrier Verizon have had to make do with handsets that are not up to the specs of the Lumia 920 if they want a Windows Phone 8 handset. It seems though that the Nokia Lumia 928 Verizon availability is getting nearer after some parts for the yet to be announced handset appear.
Nokia Lumia 928 Verizon availability nears after parts appear
There has been a whole host of rumours surrounding the Nokia Lumia 928 and its release on US carrier Verizon Wireless, which most recently included some accessories going up for sale even before the handset has been announced by the carrier or manufacturer.
Now some components for the handset have appeared that clearly show some Verizon branding on the top of the device and comes via ETrade Supply. The component supplier has the option for consumers to purchase an LCD screen and digitizer assembly for the Nokia Lumia 928, and fits in with earlier images that have appeared of the device previously.
It is expected that the Nokia Lumia 928 coming to Verizon Wireless will feature some design changes compared to the Lumia 920, which are said to include a thinner and lighter chassis that is also manufactured from aluminium.
There is also claimed to be a Xenon flash alongside the standard LED flash that will provide even better low light images from the handsets camera, but until it is confirmed officially all this remains speculation.
Will you be getting the Nokia Lumia 928?

Nexus 4 for India official release still unknown but accessories arrive

We’ve been following the release saga of the Google Nexus 4 by LG in India and sadly the official release is still unknown. We have many readers in India and have received plenty of comments expressing disappointment and frustration about this state of affairs. However accessories for the Nexus 4 are now beginning to show up in stores so maybe this is a promising sign of an imminent release and a speculative date of April 20th would fit with this.
nexus-4-lg-india-release
We’ve seen several rumored release dates come and go for the Nexus 4 in India and still nothing has been officially announced for when the phone may arrive. Google’s Eric Schmidt has apologized for the lack of timely releases of Nexus devices in India and India is listed as an official supported country on its Nexus 4 microsite but there’s still no news. However the Nexus 7 tablet was finally officially released through the Google Play Store in India and we hoped this was a good sign for the Nexus 4.
One indication that we’ve often found reliable for the imminent arrival of a device is that accessories start arriving for sale in retail stores and screen protectors, battery chargers, cases and pouches for the Nexus 4 have all appeared in stores in India recently. Some online sites are also selling the Nexus 4 handset itself but at inflated prices. For example one site is selling the Nexus 4 for over Rs. 23,500 whereas the expected price of the officially launched 16GB Nexus 4 is around Rs. 16,250 so we’d urge readers to wait if they can possibly stand it.
Regarding that rumored official release date of April 20th we hesitate to mention this as it comes from Saholic who have now displayed several different release dates that have not come to fruition. Last time we wrote about the Nexus 4 for India though, Saholic had another arrival date showing of April 30th that had just been taken down again and replaced with the dreaded ‘coming soon.’ However Daily Bhaskar reports that since then Saholic has now come up with another date of arrival for the Nexus 4 and the new date is April 20.
We don’t want readers to get too excited about the April 20th release date that is being rumored though as we are now very close and still nothing has been confirmed. However we shall be following further development and will bring you firmer news as we hear it.
Are you in India waiting for the Nexus 4 to officially release? Are you frustrated by the lack of solid information from LG and Google as to when you might be able to get your hands on this phone? Maybe you’re now considering an alternative smartphone as you are tired of waiting? Let us know with your comments.
